The Samsung Juke is popular cell phone that serves as a convenient MP3 player built right into your cell phone, hence its name the "Juke." It also features a built-in camera so you can take and send pictures while on the go. When you take pictures on a cell phone, oftentimes you want to save them on your computer so you can print them or share them with others. The Samsung support site says that you can't actually download pictures to your computer from the phone, but you can send them to your phone via email.

Instructions

1. Slide open your Samsung Juke. Click "Menu." Click "Media Center." Click "Picture & Video." Click "My Pictures."

2. Scroll to the picture you want to download from your Samsung Juke. Click "Options." Click "Send." Click "Picture Message."

3. Input your email address into the "To" field. Send the picture text message. The picture text message is delivered to your email address where you can download the attachment.

RM files are either videos or music used with the program Real Media Player. So if you want to listen to an RM on an MP3 player, you need to first convert the file into a compatible format such as MP3. You can do this with sites online designed to change your media format. 1. Visit a website such as Convertfiles, Freefileconvert, or Media-convert.com (see "Resources").

3. Click on the "Output Format" drop-down menu and select "MP3" from the list there.

4. Click the "Convert" button to begin conversion. Click on the link for your new MP3 file once it appears on the site. This should only take a few moments.

5. Download and install some software such as Format Factory if you prefer to do it that way.

6. Click on the "Audio" tab in the program window. Click "All to MP3." Click the "Add File" button. Double-click on your RM file in the browse window that appears.

Windows Media Player (WMP) has been an integral part of Microsoft Windows operating systems, supporting many types of media ranging from audio to video. The WMP application adds versatility and expands the usefulness of your personal computer (PC), which increases the overall value. In addition to playing your media files, WMP also manages your media files. Similar to how CD/DVD towers hold and organize hundreds of discs, WMP can also hold hundreds of songs and albums. WMP can also get rid of unwanted songs with the click of a mouse button, by removing them from your playlists and library. There are times, however, when you wish to restore deleted media to WMP and that process is very easy.

Instructions

1. Open WMP. Click on the WMP icon located in "All Programs" on the Start menu. Alternatively, find the WMP icon in the "Quick Launch" toolbar, located on the taskbar by the Start button.

2. Access the "Library." Click on the "File" menu at the top of WMP. Select "Add to Library" and wait for the dialog box labeled as such to pop open.

3. Restore files. Click the "Advanced Options" button in the "Add to Library" dialog box. In the "Monitored Folders" column ensure the folder containing your original music is selected, which is indicated in the "Type" column as "Rip Folder."

Glance below the "Monitored Folders" section and ensure a check-mark is populated for "Add files previously deleted from library." Click the "OK" button and wait for the "Add to Library by Searching Computer" dialog box to open.

4. Monitor progress. In the "Add to Library by Searching Computer" dialog box look at the "Progress" bar, indicated by a green line moving from left to right; also, below that, monitor the "Files found:" and "Files added:" counts.

After the progress displays "Search Completed" look to see if "Files Added:" is greater than "0" (zero), indicating files deleted from WMP have been restored.

Freddi Fish 4: The Case of the Hogfish Rustlers of Briny Gulch

Due to the interactive nature of the game and story in the fourth Freddi Fish installment, you will experience a slightly different game each time you play it. The methods in which you will access the hidden mini-games remains the same although the order in which you view them might change. View old-fashioned movie clips by locating Stella's Sodaloon and operating the old-fashioned Nickelodeon machine. Will the Zune Work With Windows Media Player?

The Zune is a portable MP3 and video player. Designed by Microsoft, it only works with Windows-based computers. The Zune comes with Windows-based software that is used to sync music, video, photos and data to it on a computer. Microsoft does not provide for using their Windows Media Player with the Zune, although many users wish this could be done. As a result, ways to enable the Zune to work with Windows Media Player have been created which are not sanctioned by Microsoft.

History

WIndows Media Player has been a mainstay of the Microsoft Windows-based operating system and has improved significantly over time. It has fast and flexible playback features and is a very stable software program. This makes it more useful for using with digital files (such as music or video) than other software since it will not damage or corrupt the files.

Identification

Windows Media Player could be used without resorting to any trickery for syncing a Zune prior to the release of the Zune 2.3 desktop software. The software upgrade "broke" the ability of the Windows Media Player to sync a Zune. Windows Media Player is still needed to play any old digital rights protected PlaysForSure music, but now it cannot be transferred to the Zune since Windows Media Player won't work with the Zune.

Significance

Windows Media Player 11 is in wide use among Windows-based computer users. There have been attempts to hack the code of Windows Media Player 11 so that it can be used to sync to the Zune. Besides being illegal, there is the potential for widespread problems with the Windows-based operating system. As a result, few have decided to try and use this method for altering Windows Media Player 11.

Function

To open Windows Media Player, connect the Zune to the computer using the USB port and press the "Add Files to the Device" option when the WIndows "Autoplay" dialog window appears. The "Sync" tab at the upper right corner can be viewed and the songs to sync can be chosen by pressing and holding the "Ctrl" key and dragging the files to the "Sync" pane on the right side of the screen. Clicking on the "Start Sync at the bottom of the program will transfer the files to the Zune.

Benefits

Building in the code from the Zune sync software into Windows Media Player would enable the player to sync Zunes without resorting to hacks or work-arounds. Microsoft has so far refused to consider doing this, citing instead that their Zune sync software is the best way to sync a Zune. Given that there have been many reports of problems with the Zune sync software, many Zune users are hoping that Microsoft will reconsider.

Warning

There is always the possibility of a syncing failure, no matter what software is being used. Having backups of the digital files that are being synced will prevent their loss, should those being synced get corrupted or otherwise damaged.

Jet Stream Definition

Just as there are currents in the oceans, air also has currents. Also like oceanic currents, air currents can vary in speed, length and width as well as travel path. The jet stream is a name for one type of air current that is narrow in width and moves at a high speed.

Features

Jet streams can be found around the world where winds exceed 57 miles per hour, and can even be found on other planets. They form between masses of air that have significant differences in temperature such as at the tropopause (the place between the stratosphere and troposphere), in combination with the earth's rotation. The larger the difference is in temperature between the two masses, the faster the jet stream will be.

Jet streams are not always permanent, and can diverge, converge, begin and stop. The path of a jet stream is commonly east to west, and is meandering in shape, looking like a river or stream of water.

Geography

The strongest jet streams on earth are called polar jet streams (jet streams 23,000 to 39,000 feet above sea level), and subtropical jets (33,000 to 52,000 feet above sea level). Of these two, polar jets are the stronger. On earth, both the Northern Hemisphere and Southern Hemisphere experience large polar jet streams.

Considerations

Though it was being studied, the term jet stream didn't come about until 1939. In that year a man named H. Seilkopf, a German meteorologist, is credited with creating the actual term, and today the term "jet" also refers to a jet stream. To say "the jet stream" refers to the northern polar jet stream on earth.

History

The discovery of jet streams isn't a very clear one. Wasaburo Ooishi, a meteorologist in Japan, is possibly the first person to detect jet stream phenomena in the 1920s, by using weather balloons. However, his work wasn't widely known outside of Japan.

One theory for the development of jet stream discovery and understanding concerns World War Two pilots. Hence a certain amount of credit for jet stream discovery is given to Wiley Post, an American pilot who also invented a pressurized suit for high altitude flight. In 1933, he became the first person to fly around the world on his own.

Significance

Jet streams are an influential part of certain industries such as aviation, as with commercial flights, and meteorology, as when predicting the weather. Pilots who fly with the jet stream may lessen their travel time, while those who fly against it may increase their travel time. Jet streams influence weather phenomena such as storm systems, so by studying them, meteorologists are able to predict the weather to a degree of probable certainty.

The Cricut Personal Electronic Cutter Machine, manufactured by Provo Craft, allows users to make die-cut shapes and letters using paper, card stock, vinyl and fabric for use in making cards, scrapbooking and other paper crafts.

Types

The Cricut Personal Electronic Cutter Machine was the original Cricut. As of December 2009, the Cricut Expression and the Cricut Create are also available; the two newer models have more features and are priced higher than the original machine.

Features

The Cricut design cartridges are inserted into the machine to enable the Cricut to cut the shapes and letters available on each particular cartridge. Each cartridge package contains a keyboard overlay, a user manual and the cartridge.

Considerations

Required supplies include a cutting blade and the adhesive cutting mat that holds the paper while it is being cut. Optional tools include a spatula for lifting paper from the adhesive mat and the tools in the Cricut toolkit: scoop tool, knife tool, hook tool, scraper, bone folder, scissors and clear ruler.

Computer software

The Design Studio software runs on the user's computer and allows her to design layouts that the Cricut will cut. A USB cable attaches the Cricut to the computer.

Handheld option

The Gypsy is a handheld device that functions much like Design Studio, but without the need for a computer. Users design layouts on the Gypsy, plug it into the Cricut and cut what they see on the Gypsy's screen.

Potential

The Cricut Jukebox connects to a Cricut and holds up to six design cartridges--rather than the one at a time that the Cricut will normally hold. This allows the user to access and use many fonts and shapes at one time.

Where Will The Word "Musher" Originate From

Where Does the Word "Musher" Come From?

A musher is the proper name of a dog sled driver, no matter if the driver is a professional dog sled racer or an amateur. Dog sled was the fastest method of overland travel for the native tribes in the Arctic regions of Russia, Canada and America. Mushers control their dogs by means of vocal commands. One of the commands used to get the dogs running is the word, "mush," although that command has fallen out of favor in recent years.

Misconceptions

The words "mush" and "musher" do not come from any Native American language or from Siberia. Neither Native Americans nor native Siberian tribes participate in the sport of dog sledding, a sport dominated by Caucasian men and women.

History

French traders and explorers were the first Europeans in the Arctic regions of North America and learned dog sledding from the natives. In French, "marcher" means "to go" and "marchent" ("let's get walking") was a command called to sled dogs by the French traders to get the pack of sled dogs moving. Both words sound very much like "musher." The English then learned from the French, but adapted some of the French words to make it easier for them to say.

Theories/Speculation

Native English speakers have trouble pronouncing French words. Eventually, the command "marchent" meant a driver of sled dogs rather than just one of the many commands given to the dogs. This language difficult may be due in part to the historical animosity between England and France that was inherited by early colonists.

Effects

Over the years, through exposure to books, movies and television, mushers were seen to command their dogs by saying "Mush!" As a consequence, a lot of mushers today do not train their dogs to respond to that verbal command because that is what spectators are yelling. Instead, the word "hike" is often used, as well as whistles, inarticulate yells or commands in the musher's own language to "go."

Significance

As dog sledding began to be a competitive sport in the 1900s, the word "musher" was used as a nod to tradition and to the French traders that gave us the word. There are now thousands of mushers who compete in dog sled races from America, Canada, France, Norway, Sweden and Germany. Mushers have their own jargon, including "stove up," which means a musher is injured. The most prestigious race in the dog sledding calendar is the Iditarod in Alaska.

The TomTom GO 740 Live is an in-car GPS unit with a MicroSD memory card slot. The GPS device has an internal capacity of 2GB, used partially to store your maps. The GO 740 Live features a music player and a picture viewer. If you have a MicroSD card with music or pictures on it, you can insert the card into your GO 740 Live and view or listen to them through the TomTom.

MicroSD Card

MicroSD cards are small flash memory cards about the size of a fingernail. They're similar to full-sized or MiniSD cards in that they have up to 2GB storage capacity. The bottom of the device has a clearly visible MicroSD card slot on the bottom, the only slot besides the docking cradle port. Using your computer, you can store music and photo files on the card then insert it into your TomTom. Through the GO 740 Live's "Music and media" menu, you can play music using the "TomTom Jukebox" or view photos through the "Photo gallery."

Incompatible Cards

It's important to remember that the device supports only standard MicroSD cards, not the newer MicroSDHC or MicroSDXC. These newer standards build upon the MicroSD technology, offering higher capacity in the same-sized card. While they look similar, your TomTom GO 740 Live will not be able to read any data from these cards.

Related Peripherals

Your TomTom GO 740 Live plays your music through the GPS device's internal speaker, by default. While this is the easiest option, you'll experience better sound quality if your car's stereo has a line-in port. If so, TomTom offers a separate windshield mount accessory featuring a line-out connection. You'll also need a standard 35mm audio cable to connect the two, this way the music on your MicroSD card can play through your car speakers. Bluetooth Hi-Fi speakers offer another option. With a compatible stereo and speaker system, your TomTom wirelessly transmits your music to your stereo via the Bluetooth connection.

Considerations

The TomTom GO 740 Live does not come with a MicroSD card, so you'll need to purchase it separately. The GO 740 Live's manual warns not to use your MicroSD card in other devices, saying they may damage the card. As long as the device is MicroSD compatible, you'll likely be safe using it in another device.

Where Did The Title "Jukebox" Originate From

The word "jukebox" found its way into the American lexicon in the late 1930s, and nearly every American alive has likely heard at least one song from a jukebox in a diner or a bar. Despite the popularity of the term, however, there is some debate as to where it came from. While most scholars will point to African American establishments known as jukehouses as the origin of the term jukebox, the meaning and origin of the term "juke" are up for debate. Possible origins include West Africa, Europe and the Caribbean Isles, but we will likely never know with 100 percent certainty where the term came from.

The Jook House

While scholars may not know the exact etymology of the term "juke," what is known is that the term "jukebox" comes directly from the early 1900s establishments known as jukehouses or jookhouses. A jukehouse was simply a place where people listened to music and drank the night away, dancing with friends, and the term jukebox is in reference to the record player that would have been a staple in these places.

The West Africa Theory

The Gullah dialect refers to that spoken by African Americans and Creoles that inhabit the area from South Carolina, through Georgia, and into the northern areas of Florida. The Gullah word "juk" has a number of possible meanings, and derivatives of the word mean everything from disorderly to wicked and violent. It is clear to see how this term could be applied to jukehouses, as they were usually not considered to be the most reputable of establishments, and wild parties and drinking were common.

The European Hypothesis

There are a few possible places the term juke could have originated from within Europe. The French term meaning "to play" is jouer, and that could easily fit with jukebox meaning "play box"; however, there are no other iterations of jouer being turned into something similar to juke. Scotland has a few possible words. The most notable is "jouk," which means a place to take shelter. This also is plausible in reference to the jukehouses. However, the jukehouses were primarily African American establishments, which makes a Scottish connection seem almost impossible.

Other Ideas

Some scholars will also argue for a Caribbean connection, especially to Haiti and Jamaica. Haiti was initially colonized by the French, which brings the term jouer back to the table and accounts for the African American uses, but the link between jouer and juke is still a loose association. Jamaica also has a term "juk" that means to poke, which could be a reference to the needle on a record player. While the connotation makes sense, there is little supporting evidence to link the Jamaicans to the Gullah Creoles, who likely coined the term jukebox.

The Scholarly Consensus

While most of the ideas are still being debated, the Gullah origins seem to be the most commonly accepted of the given etymologies for jukebox. Many dictionaries, including Merriam-Webster, immediately reference the Gullah jukehouses and refer to them as brothels. Likely the term jukebox then has a less savory origin than the happier thoughts it brings up today. Though we will likely never know with certainty, the Western African roots seem to have the most support amongst scholars and in the evidence.

The speed at which your CD is burned is perhaps the single most overlooked factor in sound quality. How the process works is beyond the scope of what you'll need to know, but it is helpful to understand that music files contain large amount of data, and that data takes time to transfer properly. Burning discs at rapid speeds does increase burn time, but can result in data loss which causes poor sound. In the "Recording" or "Quality" tab of your software, you'll be able to choose a CD burn speed. Selecting a medium speed of 4X to 12X for music CDs will take longer to burn, but will allow the CD burner to do its thing properly and make your CDs sound as they should.

Music File Types

Music files suitable for CD burning and operation on players are .wav and .mp3. Store-bought CDs use .cd files which are essentially .wav files, providing the highest sound quality but take up a lot of CD space and computer storage. MP3 files are compressed files of a much smaller size than .wav files, will still sound fine to all but the most experienced listener and allow more songs to fit on a CD. Unless you are an audio aficionado with a high-end listening system and plenty of disc storage space for .wav files, MP3s are perfectly suitable for most all users and audio systems.

Gaps Between Songs

Most popular CD software programs allow you to change the gap between songs. In many cases a one or two second gap is suitable, but for live recordings or those which a gap would interrupt the listening experience, you'll have the option of choosing no gap between songs. This option is generally located in the "tools", "options" or "preferences" menu of your software program.

Volume Consistency

When burning CDs of music from different artists or recording sessions, one song may sound louder or softer than another. Located in the "tools", "options" or "properties" menu in your software, volume leveling can be enabled to even out music throughout the disc.

Music for a very long time, and during this time technology items have been invented to make music mobile, like tapes,cd's,mp3's,i-pods, and even cell phones. It was easy adding music to tapes from the radio, but now that we have the computer everyone wants to add music to their new mp3's, i-pods or cd's and some just don't know do it.

Instructions

1. To download music to your I-Pod, MP3 or CD, first make sure that your USB Cord is connected to both the I-pod, MP3 and computer. The USB cord has two sides one small side and one longer side. The small side is the one that will go to your MP3 or I-Pod and the larger side will be connected to the front of your tower towards the bottom or the back depending on the computer that you have.

2. When you first connect the USB cord to your computer, a balloon on the bottom right of your computer screen will display saying that the computer has found new hardware to your computer. Once you see what looks like the end of a USB cord and the balloon saying that your hardware is connected, you can go to go to where your selection of purchased music is. If you have Windows Media Player, you will see two columns, one with the music and one with a down arrow tab in which you can select either the CD disk drive, MP3 or I-Pod. You will usually not see the word MP3 or I-Pod, some will say removable disk storage or flash drive. If you use the CD, you do not need a USB cord, but you will need a CD-R disk,(r meaning rewritable which is important if you want to add music to your CD.

3. Select the music you want from column one and the CD or device you want from column two. It may or may not allow you to select multiple songs, if it does click on the ctrl button located under the shift tab button on your left side of your keyboard and it should allow to select more than one music.

4. Once you have all the music you want, click copy music. Depending on the player you are using, you will see a pop up and the words copying to CD, removable disk, flash drive with 1 of .... and bar (usually blue) moving. Once the bar fills up, it will tell you that your copying has been done. If you were using an MP3 or i-pod, at the bottom on your right side of your computer screen, will be a pop-up telling you that it is safe to remove the USB storage device.

5. If you do not see a pop-up or balloon telling you that it is safe to remove the USB cord, right-click on the picture of the USB Cord on the bottom right of your computer. It will display a rectangle saying it is now safe to remove hardware. If you do not remove the USB cord this way, you can damage the computer, your I-pod or MP3 and you may not be able to use them again.

Get The Creative Zen Touch To Operate In Home windows Vista

Microsoft's Vista operating system is a huge improvement over its buggy XP operating system. However, it can be infuriating when you discover that many pieces of your older equipment no longer work. Case in point is the Creative ZEN Touch MP3 player. Unfortunately, if you install the Creative Jukebox software from the CD that came with it, you will find that Vista does not recognize the MP3 player. To remedy that migraine-inducing situation, learn get your Creative ZEN to work in Windows Vista.

Instructions

1. Determine which version of Creative MediaSource you are trying to get to work. If it is a version prior to the 5.10.38 release, then Windows Vista will not recognize your ZEN Touch MP3 player.

2. Download a new version of Creative MediaSource by visiting the company's website at Creative.com. You want to look for the file under the "support" tab and then under "download."

3. Fill out the relevant information to get to the download page for the Creative ZEN Touch.

4. Download the files titled "Creative PlaysForSure Devices Plugin 5.00.36 for Creative MediaSource 5 Player/Organizer" and "Creative MediaSource Player/Organizer 5.10.38."

5. Install the Creative MediaSource software. Connect your ZEN Touch MP3 player to your computer.

6. Run the PlaysForSure Device Plugin software. Important: This will change the firmware version on your Creative ZEN Touch, so it will also erase all of your songs. Even though it asks you to back up the files, you will find that it can't do it in Vista until the firmware is updated. Try backing up your Creative ZEN Touch on a Windows XP computer first.

7. Reload your music after you update the firmware. You may have to do this individually. But, at least your Creative ZEN Touch will work in Vista now.

Edit A Playlist In Home windows Media Player

Learn edit a playlist in Windows Media in just a few steps. Whether a song needs to be added or removed from a playlist for listening or before being burned to CD, Windows Media Player makes it quick and easy to do.

Instructions

1. Click on the "Start Menu" and place the mouse cursor over "All Programs". A window will appear with all the programs listed. Select the "Windows Media Player" by clicking on it.

2. Look at the top right of the Windows Media Player screen for the heading "Playlist". If the playlist to be edited is in that section, click on it and the songs should appear in the center window. If it is not listed in the playlist, click on the "Playlist" heading and all the playlists will appear. Choose the playlist that is to be edited and the songs will appear in the center of the screen.

3. Click on the button at the bottom of the screen that is labeled "Edit in List Pane". The songs will appear to the right of the screen.

4. To Remove a song, right click on the song and scroll down to "Remove From List". To add a song, click on "songs" on the left side of the screen under the "Library" heading. Move the cursor to the search box at the song and click on it. Type in the name of the song that needs to be added. Once the song appears, left click on it and drag it to the "List Pane".

5. To save the playlist, click on the bottom under the songs that is labeled "Save Playlist".

Things To Search For When Purchasing A Jukebox

Jukeboxes add fun and intrigue to a rec room or basement, and they add character and entertainment to a bar or restaurant. They are sources of income, too, and are eye-catching, nostalgia-inspiring, conversation-starting pieces of furniture. Buying a jukebox is a classic case of letting the buyer beware: it's an expensive undertaking, it's full of potential pitfalls and it requires plenty of due diligence and attention to detail.

Function

Decide what you want your jukebox to do. If you're planning to use it as a means for people to play a wide selection of modern music, a small digital wall-mounted jukebox is the way to go. It allows the owner to select a given number of songs, and the customer can pay extra to request a song that is not in the jukebox's regular repertoire. These digital models are sometimes made to resemble vintage jukeboxes.

If you want something old looking, you can buy an inexpensive replica of a vintage model. And if you're looking for authenticity, you should be prepared to pay top dollar; your jukebox will be very old and either recently restored at great expense to the owner, or in need of expensive restoration from you.

Authenticity

If you're buying a vintage jukebox, you owe it to yourself to ensure that it is the real thing. Buy from a reputable dealer, check the serial number and do plenty of research on the seller and the model you're considering. Know a bit about jukeboxes--for example, the iconic arch-top jukebox was made only by Wurlitzer, so if you're buying an arch-top jukebox that plays 7-inch, 45 rpm records and carries any name other than Wurlitzer, you're buying a replica. Practicality

It's nice to think that even now, you can buy a jukebox that spins the very same records your parents and grandparents listened to as teenagers. But it's also a bit impractical; vinyl wears out, and replacing it with records that are in sound condition can be expensive. This may also limit your music selection or make it exceedingly hard to find the records you want. Unless your jukebox budget is very high, you may wish to purchase a replica that plays CDs, which are easier to find and replace.

Design

Jukeboxes come in many shapes, styles and colors, and yours should fit the room, both in tone and size. Sync A Music Player

Several different media players can be used to manage the content found on your MP3 player. Before you can edit the files on your MP3, you must first sync the device to one of those media players. Those who own a basic MP3 player can sync the device to Windows Media Player. If you own an iPod, however, you will have to sync the device with iTunes in order to manage the music library on the iPod.

MP3 Player

1. Plug the MP3 player into the computer.

2. Open Windows Media Player.

3. Right-click the "Sync" tab located at the top of the program. A few options will appear.

4. Select "Refresh Devices." Windows Media Player will search for the MP3 player you plugged into the computer.

5. Click "Sync." That device will then be listed in the box located in the top right corner of the program. From here, you will be able to add or remove music from the MP3 player.

iPod

6. Plug the iPod into your computer.

7. Open iTunes.

8. Click "File."

9. Select "Sync iPod" and the iPod will sync with iTunes. A message will appear in iTunes when the process completes. You can then use the program to add songs or remove songs from the iPod.

Replace An Image Window

Picture windows allow homeowners to have a grand view of the outdoors. Throughout the years, however, picture windows can become aged-looking and homeowners may want to replace them. Replacing picture windows can offer benefits that homeowners may not first think about, such as a savings on their heating or cooling bills. Almost a third of heated and cooled air can escape through cracks that are practically invisible, but are nonetheless there---in the caulk and around the windows. Clear, bright windows give a home a happy, sunny disposition.

Instructions

1. Choose a window design very similar to your current window, or you will have to make structural changes to your window openings. This article does not cover structural changes.

2. Examine the window sill on the inside and outside to ensure that the window frame is sturdy. There should be no rotten or soft spots in the wood frame.

3. Measure your window. There are several measurements that you will need. Measure from side to side on your window at the top, bottom, and middle. Then measure your window from top to bottom at the left, right, and center. Use these measurements to order your replacement window from your local building supply store.

4. Remove the stops on the inside of your original window frame. Keep them for use with your replacement window. Take the original window out of the frame.

5. Remove the sashes from the frame. Using a pry bar, pull the sash away from the frame, and then use a hammer claw to remove the nails.

6. Scrape the old caulk off the frame with a paint scraper. Clean away all of the debris.

7. Hammer any remaining nails down flush with the frame or pry them out.

8. Place your replacement window into the empty frame to make sure that the window fits properly. Remove the replacement window from the frame.

9. Insert the tube of caulk into the caulking gun with the tube nozzle pointing away from the trigger. Pull the trigger on the caulk gun to put a thin bead of caulk on the window sill and the inside edges of the outer window stops.

10. Place the window in the center of the window frame.

11. Use your level to ensure that the window is level and plumb.

12. Measure on the diagonal from corner to corner to make sure that the window is square in the frame.

13. Place the shims at the bottom and sides of the window to hold it in its proper place while you work.

14. Replace the inside stops in your window frame. Use the 1 ½ inch finishing nails to install the stops. Leave the nails out about ¼ inch. When you hammer the nails into the inside stops, the nails act together with the caulking to hold the window in place.

15. Set the nails using a nail setter to avoid damaging the window.

16. Caulk along the edges of the window where the inside stops meet the window.

17.Go outside. Caulk along the seam where the window matches the sill.

Unclog An Ink Cartridge

Clogged ink cartridges cut down on productivity. Missed deadlines or running around town to print off a document wastes time and energy. Keep you printer's manual, so you can locate your ink cartridge. If you have lost your manual, contact your printer's manufacturer. Many printers have completely different internal hardware. Be sure you are pulling out the ink cartridge before pulling on anything from the printer.

Instructions

1. Open the printer and locate the both the black and color ink cartridges. Pull out the clogged one.

2. Lay down some paper towels in the sink to avoid staining the sink.

3. Turn on hot water and allow three-fourths print head to soak for 10 seconds. Dry the cartridge with a soft cloth, reinstall it and check by printing a test print.

4. If the clog remains, mix one cup of hot water and one cup of ammonia. Place the ink cartridge in the mixture and let it soak for two hours.

5. Take the ink cartridge out of the mixture and wipe with a soft cloth. Place it back into the printer and print off another test strip. If this doesn't work, the cartridge is probably dead and you'll need to buy a new one.

Convert Itunes Protected Music File To Mp3

Free your music library from digital locks.

Apple's iTunes music software can be downloaded for free from the Internet and used to play and organize audio files. Users can also buy and download music files. Some music bought via iTunes includes digital rights management (DRM) protection, limiting playback to one computer and to iPod or iPhone music players. But this protection can be removed with a simple procedure.

Instructions

1. Open iTunes by double-clicking the shortcut on your desktop. Create a new playlist by clicking "File" along the top menu, then selecting "New Playlist." Give this a title such as "Remove DRM."

2. Place the DRM-protected iTunes songs onto the "Remove DRM" playlist. Browse through your music library and drag the songs or albums to the playlist in the left-side column. Make the playlist no longer than 70 minutes.

3. Insert a CD-R or CD-RW into your computer's disc drive. In iTunes, click on the "Remove DRM" playlist. Click on the "Burn Disc" button in the bottom-right corner. Select "Audio CD" in the window that appears and click "OK." A progress bar will appear along the top of iTunes as the CD is created.

4. Look under the "Devices" tab in the left-side column for a CD icon and the text "Remove DRM." This should automatically be highlighted. Click on the "Import CD" button in the bottom right corner. A progress bar will appear again, as the music is ripped from the CD to the hard drive without any protection, in MP3 format.
