Music Headphones
CDs store music in uncompressed formats called .WAV files. While most MP3 players will play .WAV files, they take up a significant amount of space. The solution: Convert the CD .WAV files to compressed MP3 files using Ripping Software. Read the steps below for help on transferring songs on CD to an MP3 player.
Instructions
1. Insert the CD you want to transfer into your computer's CD/DVD drive.
2. Open up the software you use to store and transfer your MP3 files to and from your player. Popular software for performing this function include Windows Media Player, iTunes and Winamp. For this example, we will use Windows Media Player.
3. Click Tools > Options from the main menu. Select the Rip Music tab. Click on File Format and make sure to select MP3. Click OK.
4. Click the Rip tab from the Windows Media Player menu. Windows Media Player will scan the CD and display the tracks it finds. Unselect any tracks you don't want to transfer to your MP3 Player.
5. Click the Rip Music Button. All the tracks will be converted to MP3 and saved on your computer (most likely in the My Music folder).
6. Connect and power on your MP3 player. Transfer the new MP3 files from your CD onto your player and enjoy.
