Hewlett Packard released its Pavilion ZD7000 notebook in the early 2000s as a compact and portable alternative to a desktop computer. The inclusion of various multimedia software and a combination optical DVD and CD drive made it ideal for users who work with images or video.

There are also trial versions of Symantec Norton Antivirus 2003 and AOL Internet service.
