The Freddi Fish series, four computer games created for ages 3-8, emphasizes problem-solving skills and logical thinking as children try to solve an array of mysteries, involving Freddi Fish and a host of other colorful sea life. The games include a host of fun mini-games that can add a new level of fun and provide a pleasant break from the mental work necessary to solve the mysteries, but you must know where to look for these games in order to play them.
Freddi Fish 1: The Case of the Missing Kelp Seeds
Find the theater located near the volcano where you received the bottle. Begin an act in the stage show by clicking on the curtain. Start a Starfish Math contest by clicking on the yellow starfish near the junkyard. Select the difficulty level of your problems and solve them one by one. You can start the Feeding Time mini-game, in which you throw jellyfish bits at various sea creatures, by locating the console, which is to the right of the beach.
Freddi Fish 2: The Case of the Haunted Schoolhouse
Find the duplicate of the theater in the first Freddi Fish mystery and click on the curtain to see a new act; you can locate it outside the hall of fame/pulley emporium. When inside Mrs. Croaker's classroom, try clicking on the blackboard to draw things on the board. Erase your drawings by clicking on the upper left portion of the board; print your drawings by selecting the printer. When you find the trident, play a game with the tiles on the ceiling of Neptune's statue. By selecting a tile, you can move it into the empty space on the game board. Put all of the tiles in order to form a picture. After encountering the sea urchin at the top of the cliff, go left to find the crab invaders mini-game. Played in a similar manner to the classic arcade game Space Invaders, you move Luther back and forth with the mouse to squirt water at a row of crabs.
Freddi Fish 3: The Case of the Stolen Conch Shell
In yet another nod to the theater, you can watch a stage show at the Rosie Pearl club. Click on the notepad to choose an act. Find the jukebox and select it to listen to music. When you meet Grandma Grouper, click on the icon behind her that says "Fortune Telling Machine" to hear her predict your future. Click on the green button on the side of the Carnival organ to record your own songs. Watch the sponges, they'll dance to your songs. Access the Critters n' Columns arcade game by giving Gillbarker four sea urchins.
Freddi Fish 4: The Case of the Hogfish Rustlers of Briny Gulch
Due to the interactive nature of the game and story in the fourth Freddi Fish installment, you will experience a slightly different game each time you play it. The methods in which you will access the hidden mini-games remains the same although the order in which you view them might change. View old-fashioned movie clips by locating Stella's Sodaloon and operating the old-fashioned Nickelodeon machine. After meeting the mysterious "U", you will be able to visit the Oysteroid Arcade where you can shoot pearls out of a clam to burst air bubbles before they get too close to you. Locate the sheriff's Outlaw Poster and click on it to make your own wanted poster by mix-and-matching various images and descriptive outlaw names.
