Use a USB cable to attach the media player to the computer.
The Sony Digital Media Player costs about $70, as of October 2010, and plays music, digital movies and picture slide shows. The device attaches to computers or other technology, such as televisions, using a USB cable. The default window has a plain white background; however, you can change this background fairly simply.
Instructions
1. Plug one end of the USB cable into the media player. Plug the other end of the USB cable into the USB port of the computer.
2. Double-click on the "Sony Media Player" icon on your desktop. Open the "My Computer" window to find this icon.
3. Right-click and scroll to "New Folder." Type a name for the folder such as "Background" or "Pictures."
4. Open the "Pictures" folder on your computer. Drag and drop or copy and paste pictures into your "Background" or "Pictures" file in the Sony Media Player.
5. Open Notepad and create a text document. Input the following code into the document:
Attributes=1
IconArea_Image=background\ "image name here".jpg
IconArea_Text=0xFFFFFF"
Replace "image name here" with the name of your image. If necessary, replace "background" with the name of the new folder you created.
6. Save this file as "desktop.ini" and drag and drop the file into your digital media player. This picture should show up as the new background.
