Houston is loaded with bars that have karaoke nights
Houston is well known for having a very vibrant and diversified night life. One form of entertainment that can be found throughout the city is karaoke. These karaoke nights are held on select evenings at several night clubs and sports bars. The karaoke often is hosted by a DJ and the venues often include other features during the shows, such as reduced drink prices and prizes.
Tavern on Gray
The Tavern on Gray has karaoke nights on Tuesday evenings starting at 9:30 p.m. During these karaoke nights a contest is held in which the top three ladies receive $100 in prizes. A trivia contest with a cash prize also is offered that night. According to their website, this huge establishment has the largest patio seating and the longest bar in Texas. The Tavern on Gray has two outdoor bars, more than 100 TVs inside and outside, a pool, and games, such as Foosball, air hockey and ping pong. More than 20 beers are on tap. The bar holds various other special events throughout the week, such as bikini and poker nights. A happy hour is held every day from 3 to 8 p.m. with reduced prices on drinks.

Mezzanine Lounge
The Mezzanine Lounge on the Southwest Freeway has karaoke nights every Wednesday and Saturday that start at 10 p.m. and are hosted by a DJ. This is largely a sports bar with over 30 TVs that have cable TV sports packages. It even has TVs located in the restrooms. The Mezzanine Lounge, which hosts weekly events, such as poker and trivia nights, also has video games, pool tables and a juke box. The menu offers the full range of bar food. The lounge has upstairs and downstairs bar areas, as well as a bar on its patio. Various food and drink specials are offered throughout the week, including on karaoke nights.

The Cellar Bar
The Cellar Bar has a karaoke show every Friday night that runs until 2 o'clock in the morning. The show usually gets going around 9 p.m. and is hosted by a DJ. Other weekly activities include shows performed by live bands as well as DJ's playing top 40 tunes, hip hop and progressive rock. The Cellar Bar is open seven days a week until 2 a.m., with opening times either 5 or 7 p.m. depending on the night. A happy hour that features drinks at reduced prices is held on Tuesdays through Fridays from 5 to 7 p.m. Other features include flat screen high-definition TVs showing sports, as well as pool tables and dart boards. The atmosphere is casual with no dress code. The bar also promotes its various shot specials.
