SWFs are most often video animations.
The Small Web Format (SWF) extension, a product of the now-defunct Macromedia Incorporated, is an animation file designed for use on the Internet. SWF files were developed under Adobe's Flash platform. The MPEG extension is a ubiquitous video file format. MPEGs can be played in nearly every video jukebox, including the Windows Media Player. Converting SWFs into MPEGs will make the files more playable on other computers. Several online services will convert the files for free.
Instructions
Method One
1. Go to media-convert.com in any browser.
2. Select "Choose File" and find the SWF file you wish to convert on your computer. Click "OK."
3. Choose "SWF" or "Small Web Format" as your input extension from the extension list.
4. Select "MPEG Video" or "MPG" as your output extension.
5. Select "OK." After the file has been made into a MPEG, a pop-up appears with a link to the new file.
Method Two
6. Access mediaconverter.org in your favorite browser.
7. Press "Upload a file" on the home page and locate the SWF you want to convert. The file's name shows up in "Selected Files."
8. Select "MPEG" as the output extension. Click "Start" to start the conversion.
9. Click on the link that appears after the conversion. This will commence the file download to your computer.
Method Three
10. Locate Zamzar.com in your web browser of choice.
11. Click "Choose File" button and find the SWF file on your computer.
12. Select "MPG" in the menu and give Zamzar your email address.
13. Click "Convert." Look in your inbox for a message from Zamzar. You will soon receive an email message with a link to your new audio file.
