Decorate A Bar Room

A bar room is just a room until you add entertaining personality into it.

A bar room is used for so many purposes in the home. Entertaining is tops on this list, as is a quiet place that you can go to and relax to have a few cold ones by yourself after a long day. The trick to enjoying it fully, just as you do your favorite neighborhood pub, is to infuse your personality into it when you decorate the space. Choose your main element first, the bar itself, and use it as inspiration for all of the other elements in room.

Instructions

1. Buy furniture that matches the bar.

Choose furniture that complements the bar. Tables, chairs and stools should have a cohesive style throughout the space. For example, a traditional wood-stained bar should have stools with the same stained finish, while a modern black-lacquered bar can be mixed with metal and other contemporary furnishings.

2. Lighted glass shelves turn your glasses into decorative accessories.

Install shelves behind the bar, if they did not already come with it as a set, to show off your glasses and store your bottles. For example, glass-lighted shelves, if accessorized in the right way, can match both traditional and contemporary interior design styles.

3. Arrange your collections decoratively on the shelves.

Arrange your liquor bottles, wine glasses, beer mugs, shot glasses and other drink cups decoratively on the shelves. Add a few personal touches, such as figurines that match the theme of the space, decorative stir stick holders, or tooth pick dispensers to add more color and personality to the groupings when decorating a bar room.

4. Choose signs that convey the style of your personal drink area.

Buy artwork for the space that showcases your tastes. Neon signs and metal bars signs can be ordered customized to say what you want, such as a special name for your personal pub. Advertising posters offer a wide array of colors and themes as well.

5. Turn your bar room into the hottest spot in town with games and music.

Bring in your favorite bar games, such as a pool table, arcade game or poker table to give the space an air of authenticity. Don't forget about a big TV or the music to get the parties started when decorating a bar room, through an old-fashioned jukebox or even a modern karaoke and DJ system.
