Vintage jukeboxes harken back to a time when rock-and-roll was young. Finding a vintage jukebox is not difficult if you know where to look. These jukeboxes often have a high resale value, making them worthwhile investments.
Instructions
1. Subscribe to a jukebox publication. These monthly magazines provide information about different types of jukeboxes, their value, their availability in the market and even different places to buy jukeboxes.
2. Understand the grading system for jukeboxes. A Grade 1 jukebox is in perfect working condition and has been restored by a jukebox professional. It should sell for its full value and will be very expensive. A Grade 2 jukebox has also been professionally restored, but it might have some minor flaws and imperfections and is, therefore, less expensive than a Grade 1 jukebox. A Grade 3 jukebox probably needs some restoration work, although all of its major parts are in reasonable working order, and it is less expensive yet. A Partsbox is not in good working condition and is most valuable for its parts. It will sell for a low price.
3. Know that there is a wide range of prices for the average vintage jukebox. Some are fairly common in the market and sell for as little as $100. Rarer types of jukeboxes can sell for as much as $30,000.
4. Check your local newspaper's classified ads section to see if someone in your area is selling a vintage jukebox. Classified ads are the most popular forum for buying and selling vintage jukeboxes.
5. Pay attention to local garage sales. You never know when someone near you might be selling a valuable vintage jukebox for very little money.
6. Find a jukebox collector or an antiques dealer who specializes in jukeboxes.
