Adding songs to an album requires a work-around with Windows Media Player.
Windows Media Player is included with every version of Microsoft Windows operating system. While overshadowed by iTunes--the more popular media management system offered by Apple--Windows Media Player has a large user base, thanks to the overwhelming number of people with Windows computers. You may have encountered a situation in which Windows Media Player splits one album into two, as when a CD album contains two discs. Making the two discs part of the same album requires an undocumented work-around using both Windows Media Player and editing file properties in Windows.
Instructions
1. Open Windows Media Player. If the program opens in the compact view, switch to Library View by clicking the toggle icon located in the upper right corner of the program window.
2. Click the "Album" button in the "Music" section of the library.
3. Select the album you want to add songs to.
4. Right click and select "Edit" from the sub-menu.
5. Enter "Ctrl" and "C" on the keyboard to copy the album title.
6. Click the "Start" icon from the Windows Task Bar and click the "Music" shortcut on the Start Menu.
7. Locate the song file you want to move into the album.
8. Right click on the file and select "Properties" from the menu.
9. Click the "Details" tab and click on the "Album" field.
10. Enter "Ctrl" and "V" on the keyboard to paste the album title.
11. Enter the track number in the "#" field to locate the song at the desired track position in the album.
