Bathroom With Cream And Rose Decoration Ideas

Decorating a cream and rose bathroom can be a challenge. These colors tend to make a room feel muted, too feminine and old. To compound the issue, there are few fashionable bathroom accessories available commercially that contain this particular color scheme. If you're faced with outfitting a cream and rose bathroom, your best bet is to pick a decorating style and add additional colors to the room to give it a different feel.

Retro

Cream and rose bathroom colors were quite common in the 1950s and '60s--decor from this period is now often referred to as "retro." To give your bathroom a stylish, nostalgic feel, add black or mocha brown accessories, such as a black lacquer toothbrush holder, mocha window valance or clear shower curtain with a black, geometric print. When choosing patterns, opt for large dots, abstract circles or geometric designs. Graphic art prints will help complete the retro look of your cream and rose bathroom.

Shabby Chic

The shabby chic style aims to reflect a vintage, distressed look. To accent your existing cream and rose color scheme, use punches of bright white and mint green. Use a shower curtain made of sheer cotton fabric that has rose, cream and mint green colors in it or make your own. Bring in distressed wooden accessories, such as a foot stool, towel stand or cabinet. To distress new wooden pieces, sand then lightly and then paint with two coats of bright white paint. After the paint has dried, rub rough sandpaper randomly on the piece to create a vintage look.

Romantic

A unisex option that works well for cream and rose bathrooms is the romantic look--this style is perfect for bathrooms shared by couples. Use black and deep red accessories to give the room a more intimate feeling. Black and dark red work well with cream and rose, and will help the bathroom's color scheme look less muted. Put luxurious, plush towels on display in these colors, as well as clusters of red or black candles on your vanity or tub surround. Try using a shower curtain made of satin, backed with vinyl, a sheer or black lace window treatment and placing a large photo print of a red rose on the wall.
