Configure Launchcast R / C And Emotions

Yahoo! LAUNCHcast Radio stations are free genre-specific stations which play in the Yahoo! Music Jukebox. If you have Yahoo! internet service or are a Yahoo! Music member, you can create your own radio station. You can also personalize the LAUNCHcast radio stations by rating the various artists, songs and albums as they play. In addition, you can create moods based on your favorite music. Whether you like pop, rock, country, jazz, electronica or classical, you will find a station that can help you to get started.

Instructions

1. Install and open the Yahoo! Music Jukebox. Create a Yahoo! account if you have not already done so. Click the "Sign In" button and enter the Yahoo ID and password you use to log into your Yahoo! email. Do not type "@yahoo.com" in the ID section.

2. Click "LAUNCHcast Radio" in the left pane. In the "Customize My Radio" section, click "Customize."

3. Select your preferences in the "Personalization Wizard." If you never want to hear a particular type of music, select "Hate It." If you're neutral about a genre, select "It's OK." Click "Love It" for the genres of music you would like to hear most often.

4. Select your favorite artists in the next screen. Many artists are provided in the screen for your convenience. You may also add your own favorites in the box below.

5. Click "My Recommendations" to see what Yahoo! recommends based on your preferences. Click the button in the "Play" column to listen to a 30 second preview. Rate the songs you like in the "My Rating" section. Click the circle with a slash to ban songs that you never want to hear again. Click the back button to return to the Personalization Wizard.

6. Select "My Tastes" under "Refine Taste." Beside "My Listening Preferences" click "Edit." Select whether you'd like to listen to music you've rated, music you haven't rated, or a mixture of the two. Then select whether you want to hear explicit lyrics. Note that selecting the "No" radio button will cut you off from hearing a significant amount of newer music.

7. Click LAUNCHcast Radio again, then click "My Station and Moods" under "Station Guide." Listen to your station or one of the stations provided by Yahoo! Rate music as you listen, being sure to ban any songs, artists or albums you hate by clicking the red circle and slash icon.

8. Click "Create a New Mood" under "My Moods." Select only one genre from the selections listed. Click the green arrow button to expand the menus. For best results, select a subgenre from the list rather than selecting one of the top level genres. Be sure to check under the "Themes" section for odd genres such as "Meditation," "Mardi Gras," "Led Zeppelin Legacy" and "Pet Sounds." Select your listening preferences in the "Discovery Setting" section and click "Save Mood."
