Many of the popular videos shared on YouTube contain audio tracks that would be useful even without the video images that accompany them. These audio tracks are usually converted to MP3 format for quick and easy file sharing and for use on mobile devices. The conversion process is very simple and can be launched using a simple search from Yahoo.
Instructions
Convert YouTube Videos to MP3
1. Open an internet browser and navigate to the Yahoo! website (see Resources).
2. Enter the search query: "youtube to mp3" in the search box and press "Search."
3. Select one of the free online conversion websites and click the link to navigate to the page.
4. Open another browser window or tab.
5. Navigate to the YouTube website in the blank browser window (see Resources).
6. Search for a video to convert to MP3 format.
7. Copy the entire URL of the selected YouTube video from the address bar by highlighting everything in the address bar and pressing CTRL+c.
8. Return to the browser window with the online converter website open.
9. Locate the field that requests the YouTube URL, click the blank field and press CTRL+v.
10. Press the "Download" or "Convert" button.
11. Click on the MP3 file link and download the file to the hard disk.
