Put some thought behind a gift for your guy.
Your man has everything he could possibly want -- or so you think. He may have a brand new car, the latest video game and even an electronic fishing rod that finds and practically catches the fish for him. Don't give up just yet, though. There may be a few gifts that he hasn't already received or purchased, including special homemade gifts, pets and novelty gadgets.
Homemade
A homemade gift is appropriate for a guy that's your platonic friend or for a guy that's more than a friend. To demonstrate how much you appreciate and love him, make him a scrapbook of all his cherished photographs. Perhaps he keeps his pictures in a plastic bag at the bottom of his closet; gather the pictures and place them into a photo album by sections. For instance, the first section could be family. Make the second section photos of friends and coworkers. The third section can be pictures of you and him together.
Alternatively, give him a gift basket full of his favorite goodies. For a guy who's a choc-o-holic, include dark, light and milk chocolate treats. Take the idea a step further and bake that batch of the chocolate chunk cookies he's always begging you for.
Pets
Your best guy buddy constantly complains about living alone, or maybe he's trying to get you to move in with him and you're just not ready yet. Get him a pet. A puppy or cat can provide companionship. For the guy whose job requires him to travel a lot, get him a pet that requires less work and space, such as fish. Decorate a fish tank and supply him with a few colorful fish and a manual on care for them.
Hobbies
So, he does have everything -- including an old, rusty set of golf clubs. If funds permit, give him a brand new set of clubs to help improve his swing. On the weekends, he likes to toss the football around with his buddies; give him a pair of cleats and a new football. If basketball is his sport of choice, give him a brand new basketball along with a new pair of sneakers. For the guy that's a whiz in the kitchen, supply him with a new cutlery set. For a barbecue grill master, give him steel outdoor utensils. For an added touch, have the utensils engraved with his initials.
Other Ideas
Replace his old run-down coffee machine with a new espresso maker. For a guy that enjoys music but already has the latest gadgets, think outside the box and get him his very own jukebox. He may need some relaxing after a hard week of work or school. In that case, take him for a weekend getaway so he can unwind.
