HP originally sold the Pavilion 6630 desktop computer in the United States and Canada, offering the computer with a keyboard, mouse and a monitor with speaker bars mounted on either side. The computer also came with software such as Microsoft Money 2000, MusicMatch Jukebox, Trellix Web and VirusScan by McAfee
Hard Drive, Optical Drive and Disk Drive
The computer comes with one hard drive that has a storage capacity of 10.2 gigabytes. The hard drive also comes with a 3.5-inch form factor. The optical drive comes as a CD-ROM drive, which reads at speeds up to 40x. The drive has a transfer rate of 2.0 to 4.8 megabytes per second and an access speed of 75 to 85 milliseconds. The Pavilion 6630 also comes with a disk drive that works with 3.5-inch disks and can handle up to 1.44 megabytes.
Processor Chip, Memory and Cache
The Pavilion 6630 comes with an Intel Celeron chip that operates at speeds up to 500 megahertz. The computer comes with 64 megabytes of SDRAM, but it can accommodate up to 256 megabytes of memory in the form of two 128 megabyte memory modules. The computer features two memory sockets that have 168 pins each. The computer also comes with 32 kilobytes of Level 1 cache and 128 kilobytes of Level 2 cache, both on the computer's processor.
Ports and Bays
The Pavilion 6630 comes with two USB ports, two PS/2 ports for the mouse and keyboard, one serial port, one parallel port and one game port for connecting with peripheral devices. The inside of the computer features three PCI bays, two of which come available for expansion. The computer also has two external drive bays measuring 3.5 inches, one external drive bay measuring 5.25 inches and one internal drive bay measuring 3.5 inches, which is the only available drive bay.
