Delete Video in Windows Media Player
Microsoft's Windows Media Player is the proprietary music and video jukebox for the Windows operating system. The program comes pre-installed on most PCs, and it has a tendency to wreak havoc on users who don't keep a careful eye it on. Windows Media Player automatically archives every video you watch on it, meaning that you occasionally need to perform some routine maintenance.
Instructions
1. Launch Windows Media player. On the main menu, click the Library icon and then select the Video option from the dropdown menu. A menu will appear displaying all of the videos currently in your Windows Media Player Library.
2. Pick out all of the videos you wish to delete. To select multiple videos at once, you can either click and drag your mouse over all the files you want to erase, or you can shift-click (i.e. holding down shift while you click your mouse) each file individually.
3. Choose any of the files and right-click, and then choose "Delete" from the popup menu. If you wish to delete the file from your computer permanently, select "Delete From Library and My Computer;" if you want to keep the file but you don't want it in Windows Media Player, choose "Delete from Library Only."
4. Click the "Tools" option on the top bar and select "Options." On the Privacy Tab, and click "Clear History." Click the "Clear Cache" button as well, which you can find below Clear History.
5. Select the "Devices" option from the top bar. On the Advanced tab, click "Delete Files" to remove all videos from your temporary cache.
