Games For Any Sansa Fuze Music Player

The Sansa Fuze is a portable multimedia device designed and developed by SanDisk. The player supports most common file formats and is available in flash memory sizes between 2 GB and 8 GB as of 2010. The Sansa Fuze is available in different colors, and the device's storage may be upgraded up to 32 GB, using a supported memory card such as microSD. The device has an integrated 1.9-inch integrated LCD display with a resolution of 220 pixels by 176 pixels, microphone, radio and video games. The Sansa Fuze can play games with the help of a third-party firmware called Rockbox, in which the games are included as optional plug-ins.

Jewels

Jewels is a simple and popular game from Rockbox for the Sansa Fuze platform. The game has a colorful and dynamic interface which is best viewed on bright TFT (thin film transistor) LCD displays. The objective of the game is to form sequences of jewels of similar types--these jewels are then "cleared" to empty up screen space for more jewels. The player has to swap pairs of jewels in order to align similar jewel types so that connected segments are formed; higher points are earned when larger segments are cleared. The game lasts as long as the player is able to form segments of similar jewel types, and it ends when the player runs out of moves and the screen fills up. A player advances to the next stage after every 100 points.

Sudoku

Sudoku is a very popular number puzzle game in which players have to logically arrange numbers from 1 to 9 in a grid with 81 boxes (cells). The objective is to organize the numbers such that each column and row contains all numbers. Sudoku can be played on a Sansa Zune as both a plug-in and a viewer. You can select between four difficulty levels and also resume a closed game. You also can donwload pre-generated sudoku formats for new grids. The interface of the game makes it convenient to check numbers for cells that can potentially go into it, using a column on the left side of the screen. This column can be modified by scrolling to the desired number and pressing a button. A player can add different numbers for each cell's column, but unlike the grid positions, these are not saved when the game is closed.

Snake

The Rockbox firmware includes several versions of Snake. Although gameplay and objective is essentially the same for all variants, there are differences in terms of levels and quality of display. In the game, a player controls a snake that moves continuously over the screen, representing the gaming area. The snake moves one "space" at a time, and unless the player navigates some other way, the snake continues its motion in the last specified direction. The objective is to grow as long as possible by gobbling up treats, without hitting any of the sides of the wall or with itself. As the game progresses, the snake grows longer and moves faster, making it very difficult to control its movements. The Snake game can be saved in certain versions.
