O'Henrys
O'Henrys opened in 1976 as a beer- and wine-serving sandwich shop and quickly became known for being a gay-friendly establishment. This bar and restaurant has gone through several changes over the years and changed locations at one point. Count on strong drinks here in a relaxing casual setting where people can feel comfortable and safe. A number of live bands play at O'Henrys and you may also hear a DJ spinning beats or an old jukebox doing its thing. A constant buzz in the air keeps the mixed crowd happy here. Sandwiches and a number of salads, soups and appetizers are served at O'Henrys.

LaRue's Backdoor
You never what you might find on the other side of LaRue's Backdoor. This bar is known for throwing crazy themed parties and for being loud and fun. You might walk in during a 70's disco night or an 80's night where spandex and big hair rule the club. Famed local and nationally known DJs spin the tracks at this popular bar, although they occasionally step aside for a burlesque review, comedy act or live band. LaRue's Backdoor is an advocate of the Asheville music scene and sponsors a number events to help to keep local musicians in the spotlight. The crowd here is a mixed-age group of good-timers that dress casually.
