Hang up on boring ring tones!
If you own a cell phone, odds are that it is very limited in options for ring tones. While most cell phone manufacturers have begun offering catchy instrumentals of familiar tunes, receiving a phone call on your cell phone is a little boring. This article will help you make receiving phone call a little more entertaining--not to mention distinct.
Instructions
Do It
1. Open your Internet browser and go to makeownringtone.com. Scroll down until you see a silver bar in the middle of the page.
2. Click on the "Upload' button (the arrow with "Upload" underneath in red letters), and select an MP3 from your computer. It will take from one to three minutes for the song to upload, depending on the file size.
3. Once your song is selected, use the red marker on the left side of the bar (the red line with a dot in the center), and choose the line in the song you want your ring tone to begin with. You may want to play the song before editing the ring tone. One you've decided on a starting point, tap on the bar to make the green marker appear. It should be green and have an arrow facing down in the center.
4. Once the green marker is displayed, you can move it toward the red marker on the left to choose a stopping point in the song for your ring tone. Once this is done, hit the "Play" button to determine whether or not more editing is needed. If it is, simply adjust the markers and hit "Play" until the desired duration is achieved.
5. Once you've gotten your ring tone selected, scroll down to the "Mode" bar, and make sure the "Easy" tab is selected. Choose between "Normalize" and "Fade". The Normalize option will keep your ring tone the same as it would play in the song. If you choose the Fade option, the song will fade at the end before repeating for the next ring.
6. Once you've chosen the ring tone's mode, it's time to download it. When you hit "Make Ring Tone", a dialog box will pop up and display an MP3 player featuring your ring tone and a download link. Right-click on it and hit "Save Link As", and it should save to your computer. If your computer has Bluetooth capabilities, simply send it your phone (which must also have Bluetooth). It will be saved to your phone, and you can set it as your ring tone.
You can also send it to your inbox, and using your phone's Internet browser, download the file to your phone. Set it as your ring tone.
