Nightclub Manager Responsibilities

A successful nightclub caters to its patrons' every need---from the music to the food to the setting. A nightclub manager is employed to ensure that these needs are met and that the club continues to attract patrons. An incompetent nightclub manager can cause the nightclub to fail.


Job Responsibilities


The nightclub manager is responsible for hiring, training and scheduling the nightclub's staff. She must also ensure the club is in compliance with health and safety codes. She oversees the cash flow of the business, makes bank deposits and acts as a mediator when disputes arise.


Additional Duties


The nightclub manager is responsible for ensuring that the club is operating at a high standard every night. This includes overseeing beverages and food, booking events, offering promotions and sales assistance, interacting with guests and ensuring cleanliness.


Requirements


Generally, employers require that the nightclub manager have a degree or diploma in hospitality or food and beverage management. Beneficial courses include safe food handling, management, accounting, and service training. Culinary, restaurant or food and beverage management experience is a plus.


Salary


According to Indeed.com, the average salary for a nightclub manager as of October 2009 is $56,000 a year.
