Rip A Compact disc To Mp3 On Linux Ubuntu

Ubuntu Linux is a free desktop operating system that comes equipped with many different software programs. Ubuntu comes with Audio CD Extractor, a program that can be run once you have downloaded the Sound Juice plugin from the official Ubuntu software repository. Once ripped, the CD will exist in a configured directory on your hard disc in the MPEG Layer-3 file format.


Instructions


1. Log in to Ubuntu Linux.


2. Click "Applications," then "Ubuntu Software Center."


3. Type "Sound Juicer" to search for the Sound Juicer program.


4. Click "Applications," then "Sound & Video," then "Audio CD Extractor."


5. Click "Edit," then "Preferences" in the Sound Juicer window that opens automatically with the program.


6. Click "Output Format" at the bottom of the screen and choose "CD Quality, MP3."


7. Click "Folder" to choose a folder to save the file to.


8. Click "Close" to close the window. Your preferences are saved.


9. Insert your Audio CD into your computer's CD drive.


10. Click "Extract" in the application. The disc will be automatically extracted to the specified location.
