Suggestions For A Youthful Girl'S Evening Birthday Celebration

Hosting a paty at night adds excitement to a regular daytime hobby or activity.

At night things are more exciting. When designing a night birthday party for a young girl, consider her hobbies and how they change and become a bit more exciting by night. For instance, touring an art museum by night may shade the artwork with a bit of mystery and fun.

Night Ice Skating

If she loves ice skating, consider inviting a group of her best friends to join her at an ice skating rink at night. Some ice skating rinks, like outdoor locations in New York City and other urban centers, flash floodlights and play music at night for skaters. Ask the birthday girl how many friends she would like to invite and arrange for that many skate rentals at the rink. Consider meeting at a hot chocolate or apple cider stand near the rink to start the party.

'50s Birthday Party

If the birthday girls likes a certain type of retro music--like tunes from the '50s --consider hosting a themed costume and music party. Set up your basement or other rooms in your house to mimic a '50s diner, for instance. All you really need is a few icons--like a jukebox for the '50s, popular clothes like poodle skirts and saddle shoes, and authentic music. Ask the birthday girl to help choose decorations for the party and the party menu. If you set up a room like a '50s diner, consider asking a partner or other parent chaperon to work the cash register and another to help the children guests play classic games, like pin the tail on the donkey or Twister.

Horseback Night Trail Riding

Horses see very well at night, according to Equisearch, a horse expert sight. For a young girl who loves riding horses, riding at night can add a burst of excitement and mystery to her favorite hobby. Arrange to invite a group of eight to 10 girls to join the birthday girl on the trail. And ask a few chaperons to help you arrange the trip and ride with you on the trail. The ranch or stables offering the night trail riding will provide an additional light source on the dark trail; glow sticks are also helpful for each girl and boy to hold while they ride because they help dilate the horses', and the riders', pupils.
