Change the Verizon Ringback
When you make a phone call, do you ever get tired of hearing that same old dull ringing? If you wish to surprise others when they call you by having your favorite tones playing as they await your answer, you can do so if you have a Verizon Wireless cell phone. Changing the Verizon ringback takes a few steps, and you can keep your callers entertained until you make it to the phone.
Instructions
Changing the Ringback Tone Through "Get It Now"
1. Sign up for the ringback tone service to initially change your tone from the standard ring to a tone of your choice. This can be done by calling customer service at *611 or by accessing "My Account" on most Verizon cell phones.
2. Download VZW Tones Deluxe to your mobile phone. This is a free download available under the "Get It Now" section of your phone. Open the application once it has finished downloading.
3. Preview the available ringback tones. When you have found the one you wish to set as your tone, select "Purchase Ringback" in the song's menu. Allow it to process your request.
4. Select the "Manage" tab at the top of the screen. Choose the "Manage Ringbacks" option. In this menu, you can select the default ringback tone you wish to have played when someone calls your phone.
Changing a Ringback Tone via the Internet
5. Open the Verizon Media store in your Internet browser on your computer or mobile device (see Resources below).
6. Click the "Sign In" link at the top of the page to access your account and ringback tones. Use your login and password that you use on the main Verizon Wireless website to access your account information.
7. Browse the media store or use the search function at the top of the page to find a certain ringback tone or artist. When you have made your selection, click "Purchase" beside the tone's title.
8. Click "My Ringback Tones" at the top of the page once your purchase has been completed. Your Ringback Tone Manager will show the default tone as well as any you have purchased.
9. Select a new default ringback tone by clicking the icon and dragging it into the bar on the right side of the screen. You can also choose different tones to be played on certain days of the week, or when specific people call your phone by clicking and dragging the icons into the appropriate boxes.
10. Create a new jukebox by clicking the link at the bottom of the manager. This will allow your ringback tones to be played at random when someone calls your cell phone. Select the tones you wish to include in the jukebox by clicking and dragging, name your jukebox, and click "OK" when finished.
