Philips GoGear is a line of MP3 and MP4 players, designed to allow you to carry your music and video with you at all times. Like many portable media devices, the content on the GoGear is handled by a computer program, instead of through menus and commands on the device itself. The Philips Songbird program comes with your GoGear player -- use it to add music, video and playlists to your GoGear device.
Instructions
1. Connect your GoGear with your computer using the included data cable. Connect one end of the cable to the port at the bottom of your GoGear, and the other to an available USB port on your computer.
2. Click "Continue" when the GoGear attempts to install the Songbird software to your computer. Agree to the license terms and click "Next" twice, then click "Install" to complete the installation. Once the software is installed, click "Finish" to launch it automatically.
3. Click "Continue" to start setting up the software. Place a check mark next to the "Import from iTunes" option if you want to import music from iTunes. Choose any of the available add-ons for Songbird, click "Continue" and "Finish."
4. Click "Music" on the left side of the screen to see a list of all your music. Select the tracks that you want to include in your playlist. Hold "Ctrl" to select multiple tracks.
5. Right-click on any selected track, move your mouse pointer over "Add to Playlist" and choose "New Playlist." A playlist appears on the left side of the screen under the "Playlist" heading. Type in a name for your playlist and press "Enter."
6. Click and hold the mouse button on the playlist you just created. Drag the playlist to your GoGear device, which is listed on the left side of the screen under "Devices." Release the mouse button to drop the playlist into the device. The playlist is accessible on your GoGear after a few moments.
