Guide a Cricut Expression
The Cricut Expression is popular with scrapbook enthusiasts due to the ease of use. This machine allows you to cut complex characters, symbols or complex designs with multiple layers. You can also use this machine for cutting vinyl, stencils or T-shirt appliques. The Cricut Expression die-cutting machine is a valuable tool once you have mastered guide your machine.
Instructions
1. Turn the machine on by pressing the "Power" button.
2. Insert your Cricut cutting cartridge in the machine's cartridge slot located at the base of the machine. The machine's display screen will display the name of the cartridge.
3. Remove the clear cover from the Cricut cutting mat. Place the mat on a flat surface with the sticky side facing up. Apply your paper to the sticky surface, aligning it with the grid lines of the cutting mat.
4. Locate the side of your cutting mat labeled with an arrow. Insert this side of your cutting mat in to your machine so this arrow is facing upward and pointing toward the machine. Feed the mat into the machine between the roller bars, and then press the "Load Paper" button.
5. Place your cartridge's keypad overlay on the machine's keypad. Once the overlay is on the keypad, select the characters you want to cut. Press each character one at a time. The display screen of the Expression will display the characters you selected for cutting.
6. Use the adjustment dials on the left side of your machine to adjust the size of the characters and the speed you want to use for cutting. If you are unsure about which speed to use, use the medium speed or consult your Cricut Expression user manual.
7. Press the "Cut" button to cut. Once cutting completes, click the "Unload Paper" button and remove your cutting mat from the machine.
8. Use the Cricut spatula tool to remove the items from your Cricut cutting mat.
