Yahoo! is one of the largest websites and Web portals, offering a variety of different content and services. Although most of Yahoo!'s services can be accessed right from Yahoo.com, Yahoo! Messenger and the Yahoo! Toolbar can be downloaded and installed on your PC to use whenever you want. Yahoo! Messenger allows you to chat with friends, while Yahoo! Toolbar allows you to stay connected with various Yahoo! services, such as news, search, weather and email.
Instructions
Yahoo! Messenger
1. Go to Messenger.Yahoo.com and click the "Download Now" button to download Yahoo! Messenger to your computer.
2. Double-click the Yahoo! Messenger icon on your computer to launch the installation software.
3. Click the "Run" button when the security prompt appears on your screen.
4. Click either the "Typical Install or "Custom Install" link. Selecting "Typical Install" automatically makes Yahoo! your default search engine and changes your browser homepage to Yahoo.com. Selecting "Custom Install" allows you to deselect those options.
5. Click the "Next" button once you've made your selection.
6. Click the box to accept Yahoo!'s license agreement and terms of use, then click the "Next" button.
7. Click the "Install" button and wait for Yahoo! Messenger to install.
8. Click "Finish" to close the Yahoo! Messenger installer and launch Yahoo! Messenger when installation is complete.
Yahoo! Toolbar
9. Go to Toolbar.Yahoo.com and click the "Download Now" button.
10. Choose the installation options you want.
11. Read the software license and privacy policy, then click the "I Agree" button.
12. Click the "Allow" button in the notification bar above the Web page to authorize the installation.
13. Click the "Install" button in the add-ons pop-up window and wait for the Yahoo! Toolbar to install on your browser.
14. Restart your browser to view and use the Yahoo! Toolbar.
