Interior Designing For Game Rooms

Decorate your game room with a particular theme in mind.

Game rooms are a great place for families to gather and entertain friends. Decide what type of game room you would like to create and design according to the theme.

Purpose

Game rooms can be a place to gather to watch the "big game," a place for adults to play cards with friends or a place where the entire family gets together to play pool, darts or foosball. Once you choose how you would like to use your game room, then decorate accordingly.

Themes

A fun way to decorate a game room is with a theme. Popular themes include sports, poker, retro and billiards. Decorate with a theme, but don't overdo it. A room with too much college memorabilia or team colors can look tacky.

Decorations

For a sports-theme game room, hang pennants and posters of your favorite college teams on the walls. Retro-theme game rooms can include arcade game machines such as Pacman, neon signs, a jukebox, Coca-Cola memorabilia and classic posters. Classic game rooms may have a pool table, or foosball table if there is not enough space, a dartboard on the wall, a chalkboard to keep score and vintage signs.
