Use Amarok to burn Audio DVDs
Ubuntu is a free, open-source operating system users may install instead of commercial systems like Windows and MacOS. Amarok, an audio player that runs on Ubuntu can be used with a other free utilities to make DVD-Audio discs from your favorite tracks. Once the programs are installed, you can create your playlist, pop in a blank disc and click a button to make your DVD-Audio disc.
Instructions
Installing the Software
1. Click on "Applications" in Ubuntu 10.04. Select "Accessories" then "Terminal."
2. Install Sox, an audio format converter by typing "sudo apt-get install sox libsox-fmt-all" from the command prompt.
3. Install Amarok, a free audio player, by typing "sudo apt-get install amarok."
4. Install the sqlite database client by typing "sudo apt-get install sqlite3."
5. Download the free installation script. Once downloaded, right-click on it and choose "Properties." Check the box to "Allow executing as a program" from the "Permissions" tab. Click the script to run it.
Making the DVD
6. Click "Applications" from the desktop. Select "Sound & Video" then "Amarok."
7. Create a playlist (containing up to 99 tracks) by selecting your favorite tracks from the "Collection" panel. Drag the files into the playlist.
8. Save the playlist to your home directory by clicking on the "Save Playlist As" button in the "Playlist" toolbar. Name the file "dvda.m3u."
9. Insert a blank DVD in the optical drive. Click the "Create DVDA from Amarok Playlist" shortcut on the desktop, which will convert the files, burn and eject the disc.
