Create new backup jobs to be performed automatically by EMC NetWorker.
EMC NetWorker is a software solution for storage management and data protection in heterogeneous, distributed storage systems. One of the main functions of EMC NetWorker is to perform automatic backups over both local- and wide-area networks. The NetWorker Console controls the behavior of instances of EMC NetWorker running on each machine on the network being managed. You can create a backup job by using EMC NetWorker's NetWorker Console.
Instructions
1. Log in to the Console as Administrator. Click on "Enterprise."
2. Select the host that has access to the data to be backed up. Right-click on the list entry corresponding to the host, select "NetWorker," then select "Launch application." The "NetWorker Administration" window will come up.
3. Click on "Configuration." Select "Schedules" in the left pane. Click on "File," then on "New." Enter a name for the new backup schedule being created. Select "Week" if the backup is to happen weekly or "Month" if it is to happen monthly. Select the day for the backup. Click "OK."
4. Click on "Configuration" and select "Groups" in the left pane. Click on "File," then on "New." Enter a name for the new backup group being created. Enter a "Start time" within backup days for the backup job being created. Select "Enabled" for AutoStart. Click "OK." The new backup job will have been completely configured.
