Produce A Playlist In Home windows Media Player 11

Playlists are customizable collections of songs, videos or digital photos that you can access through your media player. When you elect to use a playlist, the media player will only play the files within it. Windows Media Player 11 is a Microsoft program that is available for Windows XP and comes standard on Windows Vista operating systems. Windows Media Player playlists be burned onto CDs or imported into Zune MP3 players.


Instructions


1. Open Windows Media Player 11 by locating the program in the "Start" menu. Go to "All Programs" and select "Windows Media Player."


2. Import the media files for your playlist into Windows Media Player. Click on "Library" at the top of the player and select "Add to Library." Windows Media Player will automatically scan your computer for media files. To add or change the folders that Windows Media Player imports music from, click on "Advanced Options." Your files will appear in the Windows Media Player library when it is finished importing.


3. Locate a file you want to add to your playlist. Click and drag the song into a new playlist by holding your mouse button down as you move the file into the right-hand pane under "Untitled Playlist." The file name will now appear in the right-hand pane as part of a new playlist.


4. Continue to drag your desired playlist files into the right-hand pane. Add songs, video or picture files to your playlist until it is complete. Select multiple files at once by holding the "Ctrl" key. To remove a file from your playlist, right-click on the file and select, "Remove from list."


5. Add your highest rated and most frequently played songs from a certain genre or album by clicking "Library" and selecting "Add favorites to list when dragging." Select the genre or album from your library and drag it into the playlist pane on the right. The highest rate and most frequently played songs from the genre or album will be imported into your playlist.


6. Click the "Save Playlist" button located underneath your playlist files to save the playlist. You will be prompted to name the playlist. Type a name into the field above your playlist. Press "Enter" after typing the playlist name to save the playlist. Your playlist will now appear on the left-hand side of the media player under "Playlists."
