Remove Home windows Media Player 9

Windows Media

Windows Media Player 9 is an older version of Media Player. It is found most often on computers that operate with the Windows 98, 2000 or ME operating systems, although some computers that are using XP can be using Windows Media Player 9. Whether you have upgraded your computer or simply installed the Media Player 9 version because you enjoyed the setup, it can easily be removed from your computer. The removal method will depend on what operating system you are using.

Instructions

For Computers With Windows 98, 2000 or ME Without System Restore

1. Click on "Start."

2. Open up "Control Panel."

3. Select "Add or Remove Programs," and then scroll down and highlight "Windows Media Player 9."

4. Select "Remove." Confirm that you wish to remove it if asked. At this point, Windows Media Player 9 is uninstalled from your computer.

Removing Windows Media Player 9 With Windows ME or XP With System Restore

5. Click on "Start" and then "All Programs."

6. Select "Accessories" and then highlight "System Tools." Choose "System Restore" from the System Tools options.

7. Select a restore point that goes back prior to when Windows Media 9 was put on your computer. Confirm that you wish to restore.

8. Wait a few minutes for the System Restore to take effect, and allow your computer to restart itself. This will only take a few minutes, but do not interfere with the automatic restart. Upon restart, Windows Media Player 9 will have been removed, and the Media Player version that was previously on your computer will be in place.
