Remove Replicates In Itunes In Home windows

Delete Duplicates in iTunes in Windows

As you continue to build your iTunes library, you may unintentionally add duplicates of songs that are already in your library. In order to save space and keep your music library organized, you can simply search for duplicates using the iTunes duplicates feature, which scans your library for duplicate titles. When erasing songs, it is highly recommended to carefully look over your duplicates to prevent accidental deletion of a track that has the same title but may be from a different artist or album.

Instructions

1. Open iTunes. Double-click the "iTunes" icon on your desktop, or click "Start," "All Programs," "Apple" and "iTunes."

2. Click "File" at the top of the screen and select "Show Duplicates" from the drop-down menu.

3. Click the "Name" tab in the Duplicates section to arrange the songs. Check both the song title and the album to ensure you're erasing a duplicate file and not a track that has the same name.

4. Right-click the duplicate song and select "Delete" from the pop-up menu.

5. Click either "Keep File" or "Move to Trash." The "Keep File" button removes the song from your iTunes library but keeps it on your hard drive. "Move to Trash" removes the song from your library and hard drive and places it in your Recycle Bin.
