Rock & Roll Women Bed room Ideas

If your daughter loves rock and roll, transform her room into a rocking paradise all her friends will envy. From wall color to the accessories, have your daughter help you pick out elements that will reflect her rock 'n' roll tastes. While many rock-themed decorations are available at stores, you and your daughter can spend quality time together creating a few homemade decorations for the room.

Walls

Paint the walls in your daughter's favorite colors. Pink or purple, for example, will give the room a vibrant color and make everything stand out. Use an overhead projector to enlarge pictures of a microphone, jukebox and old records to paint on the walls. Alternatively, cover one wall completely in old records or in album covers. Find old records at an estate or garage sale. Rock 'n' roll-themed border and wall murals are also available at home improvement stores and online.

Bedding

Girl-themed rock 'n' roll bedding is available at stores that sell home goods. Some bedding features records, guitars, keyboards and jukeboxes. Decorate the bed with pillows shaped like music notes. Or purchase a solid-colored comforter and use iron-on musical notes, records and jukeboxes to decorate the comforter. Add some sparkle by spraying craft glitter on the bedding. Make a blanket using old rock 'n' roll T-shirts. Cut the front and back designs off the shirts in squares. Sew the squares together and drape the rock and roll T-shirt blanket over the end of the bed.

Lighting

Instead of standard lighting, decorate the girl's bedroom with bright neon lights. Guitar-shaped neon lights are ideal for a rock-themed bedroom. If budget allows, run a pink or purple neon light around the top border of the room. Other ideas include placing a strobe light in the bedroom or installing track lighting along the wall with different-colored light bulbs.

Accessories

Make curtains using record- or jukebox-themed fabric. Hot-glue small records onto the ends of basic curtain rods, tiebacks, lamps, shelves and the headboard of the bed for added decoration. Place guitar- and musical note-shaped rugs on the floor. Hang records or CDs from the ceiling at various heights. Hang pictures of musical instruments and posters of rock and roll bands-- either classic rockers like the the Rolling Stones or your daughter's current favorites -- on the walls.
