Stop Streaming If This Reduces Of Rebuffering

When using a video or audio player to stream data from the Internet, your media player may experience some issues that cause the connection to cut out. If the connection issue is temporary, the media player will attempt to cache the next portion of the file, which is called "buffering." If the connection drops completely, the buffering percentage reading may stall and the streaming data will stop. At this point, you'll need to stop the media player from streaming the data, which can be done in several ways.

Instructions

1. Close and reload the webpage if streaming from a website. By reloading the page, you will reset the connection. If the connection issue has resolved, you'll be reconnected with the streaming data. Closing the webpage will also result in the data streaming and buffering being stopped.

2. Close the streaming video or audio program to stop the data transfer. By closing the program, you'll effectively cut the data connection.

3. Right-click the video pane and choose "Stop download" or "Stop streaming" to stop the embedded media player from downloading the streaming data. This method works for YouTube videos and several other streaming video sites.

4. Update your version of the Adobe Flash software to solve the issue of streaming media disconnecting when buffering. Click the "Get Adobe Flash" link in the Resources section, then follow the instructions on the webpage to update Flash on your computer.
