Suggestions For New Kitchen areas

Make sure all of your appliances match.

Make your new kitchen shine with accents based on your favorite style or theme. Feature neutral colors or bold and bright colors like yellow or lime green and leave the ceiling white. Choose cabinetry that matches the look you're going for and buy a table that blends well with the cabinets and theme of the kitchen. A picnic-style table works well in an old-fashioned country kitchen.

1950s Kitchen

Capture old memories by decorating a 1950s-style kitchen. Install black-and-white checkerboard flooring along with red bar stools around the countertop to resemble a diner. This look works well in kitchens with long extended countertops. Hang up magazine, advertisements or other pictures from the 1950s. You can buy these online or look for pictures in antique shops. Adorn your kitchen with white or stainless steel appliances. Small red appliances also complement this style. Find other accents such as an old-fashioned ice cream machine or miniature jukebox.

Rustic Country Style

Feature a rustic country-style kitchen in your new home. Buy cabinets that look unfinished. White cabinetry also works well for this style. Place an old-fashioned farm or picnic-style table in the room and bring in red-and-white checkerboard towels and other old-fashioned decor. Place cobalt blue bottles with corks in them on top of the cupboards and hang up pictures of a country house or farm.

Cherry Wood Cabinets with Grape and Wine Accents

Create a sophisticated kitchen in your new home by installing cherry wood cabinets with stainless steel appliances. Place burgundy and forest green pottery on the top of your cabinets along with plastic purple grapes and vines. Hang up a picture of grapes and vines and install a miniature wine fridge full of your favorite selections. This style works well for a simple yet, elegant person.

Pastel Green Walls with White Cabinets

Paint the walls in your kitchen pastel green and leave the ceiling white. Install white crown molding and white cabinets. Bring in other green accents such as cookie jars, hand towels and pottery. Other light pastel colored decorations also go well with this look. Buy a white country or pastel green colored table. Hang up pictures of country landscapes. This style works well for a person who wants a fresh, yet simple kitchen.
