Take apart A Seeburg R Jukebox

Seeburg was one of the great manufacturers of the Jukebox Silver Age.

The Seeburg R model signifies a classic era in jukebox design. The jukebox (model number HF-100-R) was produced from 1954 to 1955. According to Vintage Vending, it is "one of the most sought-after of all the 50's jukeboxes." If you are in possession of a Seeburg R, disassembling it is a simple procedure. The tools required are basic, and the jukebox itself is made of large, easy-to-handle parts and sections.

Instructions

1. Unplug the jukebox. Allow it to sit for at least 24 hours before disassembling it. This allows it to discharge the capacitors (formerly known as condenser).

2. Lift the front glass panel. Pay particular attention to the hinges, as they may be stiff.

3. Unscrew the record playing mechanism. Unplug or unscrew any wire connections. Remove the record playing mechanism carefully.

4. Open the rear panel. Find the amplifier. The amplifier has glass vacuum tubes that stand horizontally on a metal chassis.

5. Carefully unplug all cables from the amplifier. Unscrew the speaker wire terminals and remove the wires.

6. Unscrew or unbolt the mounting screws or bolts on the sides of the base of the amplifier chassis.

7. Carefully remove the amplifier from the jukebox.
