Once you've created a piece of artwork, deciding what to name it is the last part of the creative process. Here are tips and tricks to help make naming that piece of artwork easy.

1. Name your piece based on your inspiration. Is the artwork a depiction of a person, place or thing? What part of that person, place or thing inspired you to create your piece of artwork? Michelangelo's "David" was named after his inspiration for this glorious piece of artwork. Capture the emotion or being that captivated you and contributed to that piece of artwork.
2. Name your piece based on the message you're trying to convey. Whether it's love, hate, peace, or war, or anything in between or far apart, artwork conveys and elicits emotions. Choose a name based upon the emotion or message that's being conveyed. A painting of a park can be named anything, from a "Walk in the Park," to "Distant Dreams," or even "Solace from Storms." One of Salvador Dali's famous paintings is titled, "The Persistence of Memory." This surrealistic painting depicts melting clocks, ants, and a human figure. Through the combination of his artwork and the selection of names, Dali leaves it to each person to interpret their own message through his artwork.
3. Do you want to inspire others with your artwork? John Lennon's famous song, "Imagine," inspires thousands. He didn't need a big title to inspire people. He used words and music instead. Be unconventional and give your piece a name that evokes and inspires!
