Use Sandisk Audio Players

SanDisk is an electronic device manufacturer that creates various types of MP3 players under the SanDisk Sansa product line. The SanDisk MP3 players range in storage capacity, starting at 512mb, and are intended to operate on the Windows operating system. Most SanDisk MP3 players also include a built-in video player with a color screen, an FM radio tuner, and a memory flash card slot to expand the MP3 player's storage capacity. Use SanDisk MP3 players to take your computer's MP3 library with you and listen to music wherever you go.

Instructions

1. Verify that your computer meets the operating specifications required to sync the SanDisk MP3 player with the PC. All SanDisk MP3 players require Windows XP or later; Windows Media Player; and a USB 1.0 port. A USB 2.0 is important if you want high-speed music syncing.

2. Check that the SanDisk MP3 player has a full battery charge. All SanDisk MP3 players have a rechargeable lithium ion battery, and some SanDisk devices have a replaceable battery. The battery icon on the top right-hand side of the SanDisk MP3 player's screen displays the current status of the battery's charge. If the battery is low, recharge it before using the SanDisk player for the first time. To charge, connect the player to your computer's powered USB port using the included USB cable. The SanDisk player's screen will display a yellow charging icon. Unplug when charging is complete.

3. To turn on the SanDisk MP3 player for the first time, unlock the "hold" switch on the top of the MP3 player by sliding it so that the orange tab does not appear. Then, press the "power button" once. Wait for the SanDisk MP3 player to respond. The thumbweel of the player will flash a light and the screen will turn on to display the player's menu options. Turn off the SanDisk player by holding down the player's power button for two seconds. Wait for the screen to display "Goodbye" before releasing the button.

4. Practice resetting the SanDisk MP3 player to solve critical software errors and to fix the MP3 player if it freezes. To reset the player, hold down the power button for fifteen seconds. This resets the MP3 player to its original factory settings and can help resolve any problems you encounter while using the SanDisk MP3 player.

5. Connect the SanDisk MP3 player to your computer using the included USB cable. Once the computer has sensed the connected device, the SanDisk player's screen will display "Connected" and the SanDisk Portable Media Player will be listed under Other in your computer's My Computer window.

6. Add music to the SanDisk MP3 player. Double-click the Portable Media Player listed in the My Computer window. Double-click the Music folder. Select the MP3 files that you wish to load onto the MP3 player and drag them into the Music folder. The player will load them into its internal memory and make them available for playback once the device is disconnected from the computer.

7. Sync your MP3 song playlists from Windows Media Player to the SanDisk MP3 player. Create a playlist in Windows Media Player and connect the SanDisk MP3 player to your computer (see Step 5). Once its connected, Windows will display a dialog box. In the box, click "Sync digital media files to this device." In the next window, click Set Up Sync. In the menu, click Personal Playlists and then select the playlists that you wish to transfer to the SanDisk player. Click the Add button then push the Finish button to transfer your Windows Media Player playlists to the MP3 player.
