Burn A Compact disc From The Website

Anyone with basic computer skills can burn a website to a CD.

A website may contain a wide range of information that you can choose to burn to CD, including text files, music and photos. The website itself may be placed on CD by saving the website's source material, including the markup language. Anyone with basic computer skills can burn a website to CD as long as the information on the website is not copy protected.

Instructions

1. Place a readable/writeable compact disk (CD-RW) into your CD drive and close the drive.

2. Open an Internet browser on your computer screen.

3. Save a file, such as a photograph, from a website to your desktop by right-clicking on the file on the website. Select the "Save As" choice on the menu that appears. Select "Desktop" from the "Save" menu to save the file to your desktop.

4. Save text by holding down the mouse button and dragging the mouse cursor over the text to highlight it. Right-click and select "Copy" to copy the text. Then open your computer's word processing or notepad software, right-click and select "Paste" to paste the text into the program. Save the text file to the desktop as a .txt file.

5. Reveal the website's markup language by selecting the "Show Source" option from your browser menu. The markup language will appear in a separate window. Copy the markup language by highlighting it and choosing the copy command. Paste the text into a text program and save the program to your desktop.

6. Open the CD file in the computer's root drive. Select the saved files on your desktop and drag each file into the CD window to copy the information to the CD.

7. Select the "Burn CD" option from the CD window to burn the files to your CD. Do not remove the CD until a message stating that the burn is complete appears on your computer screen.
