Charge your laptop's battery without having it plugged in to your laptop.
Using laptop computers are convenient, mobile ways to send and receive email, create documents, watch movies and engage in many other functions. One challenge to using laptops is the need to keep a charged battery with you at all times. When you are on the road, you do not want to run out of power. Although having multiple batteries is a great potential solution, you should have a way to charge one of those batteries while the other is busy powering your computer. To do this, you need an external battery charger.
Instructions
1. Check your current laptop battery to see if it contains an AC adapter hookup. If it contains this port, you do not need to purchase a connector or a battery with such as connection. If the battery contains an AC adapter hookup, attach your laptop's AC adapter directly to this port.
2. Purchase a new, compatible battery from you computer manufacturer's website. Before buying a new battery, check the specifications to ensure that the battery is equipped with an AC adapter port. Then when you receive the new battery, you can charge it using the AC adapter while continuing to use your laptop that is running on your old battery.
3. Purchase an external battery charger from your computer manufacturer's website. Because laptop batteries are manufactured differently for different machines, it is difficult to buy a generic connector. Check the external charger's specifications to be sure that your battery will fit.
