Share Music Playlists

Sharing music playlists has become a rite of passage now among those who can't live without music or the internet. Perhaps you're one who hasn't gone that route yet due to being busy, yet you still want an online connectivity of musical interests with friends and family. Fortunately, it doesn't take long to learn. The only real problem is deciding which two of the best music services in cyberspace you want to use--iTunes or Rhapsody.

Instructions

Sharing Playlists at iTunes

1. Go to iTunes where you'll create an iMix with your existing playlist as the official way to share it with family and friends.

2. Look for an arrow to the right of your playlist file and click it to pull up other options.

3. Choose "Create iMix" as your option in order to get started on arranging your playlist.

4. Watch for the "Create" choice when clicking on "Create iMix." Press "Create."

5. Type in a title for your playlist with the usual description and then find "Publish" to finalize the iMix playlist.

6. Share your playlist with family and friends via the "Tell a Friend" icon that, unusually, doesn't include "Family" in the title.

7. Consider the easier option of cutting and pasting a link to a music page on iTunes into the body of your email. Select the "Announce" icon on your playlist page as another alternate way to send your playlist via email to specific people in your life.

Sharing Playlists at Rhapsody

8. Open your Rhapsody account if you already have one. Access an existing account if you have one free through Comcast high-speed internet services.

9. Look for your playlist that will be located in Rhapsody's mixer on the left side of the page.

10. Press "Share" at the bottom of the Mixer or Playlist and you'll be given multiple options that can help you send your playlist to multiple places.

11. Choose to send the playlist to your blog or website as a convenient alternative to the usual email or Instant Messenger options.

12. Remember that Rhapsody is only for those who adhere to using Windows. For friends and family who use a Mac, it's best to use iTunes as a more universal method to share your favorite music with those who don't mind you sharing it with them.
