If you have an old laptop with the liquid-crystal display screen intact, you can use that screen on another laptop. As long as the old screen has the proper dimensions, it can be extracted from your old laptop and installed in a new laptop. You can remove and install your old laptop screen in about 20 minutes.
Instructions
Screen Removal
1. Remove the screw covers from the bezel of your old laptop. The bezel is the cover that fits around the LCD screen. The screw covers surround your LCD screen.
2. Remove the screws located under the screw covers.
3. Remove the bezel from your old laptop.
4. Remove the four screws at the corners of the LCD screen.
5. Disconnect the video and power cables from your old laptop.
Screen Installation
6. Remove the LCD screen from the laptop you wish to install the old screen. Follow the procedure outlined in Section 1.
7. Connect the data and power cables to your new laptop.
8. Place the LCD screen in your laptop and align the holes at the corners.
9. Insert the four screws at the corners of your LCD screen to secure it.
10. Replace the bezel around your monitor. Replace the screws and screw covers in the bezel of your new laptop.
