Popular with Windows operating systems, DM files are generally audio files equipped with copy-protection. Known as digital management files, they can be converted to the more usable MP3 file format for burning to CDs or for use with personal audio players. You can convert your file using a variety of freeware websites.
Instructions
1. Navigate to an online file conversion website, such as one those listed in the "References" below.
2. Select "Browse" or "Select it" on the website's homepage and use the pop-up window to select the DM file from your computer.
3. Select "MP3" in the "Convert" menu or "Output format" section. If requested, enter the email address where you would like the converted file sent.
4. Click "Convert" and your file will be mailed to your e-mail address or will be offered to you as a link on the next page of the website.
