Convert An M2v To Some Wmv file

The M2V file type is a video container encoded as an MPEG-2 lacking an audio track. The WMV (Windows Media Video) file type is the proprietary video file for Windows Media Player, the media jukebox that comes preinstalled on PCs. The best and easiest way to convert M2V files into WMV is by using an online converter.

Instructions

1. Navigate your browser to a file conversion website. Media-convert.com is one of many websites that makes it easy for users to convert a variety of files (see Resources below).

2. Click the gray "Choose File" option in the upper-left corner of the main page.

3. Select "MPEG-2" in the popup menu as the video type you want to convert. Because M2V files are based on the MPEG-2 container format, Media-convert.com will be able to convert the file without any problem. The website allows for more than 20 video file formats to be converted, including FLV, MOV and AVI.

4. Select "MPEG-2" as the Input container type for your upload file. The menu for this is immediately to the right of the "Choose File" selection.

5. Reselect "MPEG-2" as the file type from the second menu if Media-convert doesn't automatically detect it.

6. Choose either "PC" or "MAC" as your output format. This option is found on the left side of the page.

7. Select "WMV" as your output file container type in the next drop-down window.

8. Click the "Go" button once you have picked out your preferences. The conversion bar will fill as the M2V becomes a WMV. The new WMV fill will show up on your desktop.
