A Dell Streak is a smartphone that features a touch screen. The size and its use of Google's Android operating system make the phone seem like a cross between a cellular and a tablet computer. It is small enough to be held to the ear, but it is large enough that Android applications work without a problem. The battery is located in the back of the phone, in the same location as the SIM card and the microSD memory chip.
Instructions
1. Press the Dell Streak's power button and hold it down. This button is on the side of the device, between the camera button and volume control.
2. Wait for the white "Device Options" menu to pop up. Touch the "Power off" field at the bottom of the menu.
3. Wait for the screen to go completely black. The screen and the three navigational buttons on the side should be completely unresponsive once the device powers down.
4. Flip the phone over and remove the back plate. The panel may resist at first, but use both your thumbs and slide the plate towards the end housing the speaker.
5. Lift the battery out with your fingernails. The proper lifting point is at the end of the battery, nearest the SIM card.
