WAV files are often used on CDs.
Convert MP3 files to normal audio files for increased usability in programs or media devices that do not support MP3 audio. WAV files are also known as Waveform audio and Windows audio. According to pcmag.com, WAV files are the native audio format for Windows and provide high sampling rate quality. Businessdictionary.com lists WAV files as Microsoft's exclusive format for digitized sound. WAV formats are also used for professional music recording and album production and are compatible for burning onto most CDs when using programs that do not convert files during the burn process.
Instructions
1. Insert the blank CD into the CD drive of the computer. Use CD-RWs whenever possible, as you won't need to keep the CD after the process is finished.
2. Open Windows Media Player and drag and drop MP3 files into the "Burn" queue.
3. Click the "Burn" tab at the top of the menu and select "Audio CD" as the burn type.
4. Press "Start Burn" and refrain from working on any other computer applications until the process completes. Reinsert the CD if Windows ejects it automatically.
5. Toggle to the "Rip" category in Windows Media Player. A list of the newly burned songs on the CD should appear in the pane. Make sure each check box is checked to ensure all files get ripped.
6. Select the down arrow on the "Rip" tab and choose "WAV" as the rip format. Use the "More Options" button to specify an output path where Windows should save the ripped files.
7. Rip the files by clicking "Start Rip." The resulting files will be in WAV format.
