MP3 files are highly compatible with digital music players.
The RAM or RA (Real Audio) container format is the proprietary audio file type for the Real Player software. RAM files are typically used for streaming online audio. The MP3 audio format is the most widely used digital audio format. MP3 files are compatible with nearly every portable digital player and media jukebox. Converting from RAM to MP3 on a Mac is done most easily using an online converter.
Instructions
Method No. 1
1. Navigate to media-convert.com (see Resources).
2. Locate and click the "Upload" or "Select File" button. In the pop-up menu, locate the RAM file you wish to convert and click "OK" to choose the file.
3. Select "RA" or "Real Audio" as your input file format.
4. Select "MP3" as your output format.
5. Click "Convert" or "Start" to begin the conversion. Once the conversion is complete, media-convert.com creates a pop-up window with a download link to your new file.

6. Navigate to mediaconverter.org (see Resources).
7. Click the "Upload a file" button and locate the RAM file you wish to convert. The file name will appear in the "Selected files" menu. Click "OK."
8. Select "MP3" as your output file format in the drop-down menu. Click "OK."
9. Click "Start" in the "Summary" menu to begin your conversion.
10. Use the Mediaconverter download link to download the new file once the conversion is complete.
Method No. 3
11. Navigate to zamzar.com (see Resources).
12. Click the "Choose File" button to select the RAM file you wish to convert.
13. Select "MP3" as your output file format in the drop-down menu.
14. Enter your email address in the menu.
15. Click "Convert." After Zamzar converts the file, you'll be sent an email with a link to your new file.
