Convert A Sound File From Ram To Mp3

Convert RAMs to MP3s will greatly increase the files' usability.

RAM or Real Audio Media files are music files designed to be used in the Real Audio media player. RAM files sometimes are associated with streaming content online, from where they are fully downloaded onto one's hard drive. MP3 files are the most common digital audio files, hence the term "MP3 player." By converting your RAM files into MP3s, you'll increase the compatibility of the files both with portable devices and with PC digital jukeboxes.

Instructions

Option One

1. Launch a web browser, such as Apple Safari or Google Chrome, and open media-convert.com (see Resources).

2. Find the "Select File" option and using "Browse," choose your desired RAM file from your computer's hard drive. Click "OK" to finalize your choice.

3. Pick out "RAM" or "Real Audio" for your input extension and choose "MPEG Audio Layer 3" or "MP3" as your output extension.

4. Click on "OK" to get the conversion underway. Once the site has made the MP3, it will create a pop-up window with a link to download the MP3.

Option Two

5. Navigate to mediaconverter.org in your web browser (see Resources).

6. Press the "Upload a file" button and choose the RAM file to convert. Click OK and the name of the RAM file shows up in "Selected Files."

7. Click on "Next Step" and opt for "MP3" as the output extension. Click "Start" to initiate the conversion.

8. Click the link that shows up after the conversion is done to download the MP3.

Option Three

9. Navigate to Zamzar.com in your favorite web browser (see Resources).

10. Select "Choose File" button and find the RAM you want to make into a MP3.

11. Select "MP3" in the drop-down menu and enter your email address in the "E-mail" box.

12. Click on "Convert." Once Zamzar finishes the conversion, you'll receive an email with a link to the converted MP3.
