Develop A Expensive Audio Player

Adding music and sound to your website is simple with a Flash MP3 player.

When visitors come to your website, you want to provide content that is engaging and encourages them to stay a while. Adding audio to your site is a powerful way to keep their attention.

You don't need to be a professional Web developer to embed sound files on your website or social networking page. Anyone can accomplish this by building a Flash MP3 player and adding a few lines of HTML code to their site. There are many Flash players available on the Internet for you to use, many of them free.

Instructions

Host Your MP3 Files

1. Store your recorded MP3 files on your own personal Web server if you have sufficient space. You can also use an external file hosting service such as File Ave, My Data Nest, or File Den. While there are several places to host your files for free, the host may charge you a monthly fee for additional server space and bandwidth if you exceed the allotted free amount.

2. Log in to your personal Web server or file-hosting account and click "Upload." Locate the MP3 files you wish to stream and add them to the upload list. Many hosting services have a bulk uploader for large numbers of files.

3. Sort your newly-uploaded files on the server. You can rename, delete, preview and move them into custom folders. For example, if you're streaming a regular weekly Web radio show or podcast, you'd want to put the files for each week's show into separate folders sorted by date or show title.

Embed Your Player

4. Select a Flash MP3 player. A few popular free embeddable players are the easy-to-use Project Playlist flash player, Yahoo Media Player, Poqbum, and MP3 Player.

In this tutorial we will be using Poqbum. However, the basic functions of all Flash MP3 players are the same no matter which one you use.

5. Go to Poqbum.com and click "New Flash MP3 Player." You will then be asked for your login and password if you already have an account, or you can choose to create a playlist as an anonymous user.

6. Select the look and feel for your custom Flash MP3 player. There are hundreds of different designs to choose from.

7. Select your player's options: you can randomize tracks if desired, show the equalizer, specify the total number of tracks in the list, and/or have the player start automatically when the page loads.

8. Create your playlist by copying/pasting the direct links to your MP3 files online in the box that says "Track URL." Add each individual track one-by-one in the order you want them to play. You can also add additional information such as song title, artist, album title or copyright information. Then click "Continue."

On the next screen, you will be given a custom HTML code for your player. Copy and paste the code into your website or social networking page and save your changes.
