Edit Artists & Game titles With An Mp3 File

Update ID3 tags to correct missing MP3 information.

If you have a large digital music collection, you've probably noticed that the artist, song title and album listings on many of your files are incomplete, missing or incorrect. This information is stored in a little piece of metadata called an ID3 tag. The ID3 tag is stored in the music file itself and can easily be updated using one of many available ID3 tag editors. Updating your ID3 tags will allow your music management and music playing devices to accurately display information about your MP3 files.

Instructions

1. Download and install a music management or ID3 editing program. There are many free programs available online. You can use a search engine to find them or go to Download.com and look under MP3 & Audio software. You can also use iTunes or MusicMatch Jukebox to edit ID3 tags.

2. Highlight the songs you want to edit by opening the program and selecting the songs. In most programs, you should then go to the Edit menu and select Edit Track Info. In iTunes, you would select go to the File menu and select "get info." If the ID3 tag is not in the correct format for iTunes, you can also choose Convert ID3 Tags from the Advanced menu.

3. Update the information. Fill in and correct any missing or inaccurate information. The more information that you fill in, the easier it will be to keep your collection organized and to search for songs.

4. Click OK. Once you click OK, the new information for the MP3 files will be updated and saved.
